Ming Ji "Cold" Chicken Rice

After 1000 fucking years I have finally decided to blog about chicken rice.
And no, it's not S11 chicken rice (although it is good, maybe I'll save that for a separate review).
This review's gonna be cold. Cold chicken rice.
Chicken rice that sells out before 8pm so you gotta be fast if you want to eat good stuff.
NO ROASTED ONLY STEAMED

For starters, we paid $29.80 for a whole chicken, with 3 portions of rice (for 3 pax of course).
Price wise, it's a pretty good deal, although it's a little towards the expensive end.
But screw that, for the price you're paying you're gonna get some fucking good chicken.

The whole chicken is definitely wholesome, drenched with fucking solid chicken oil and shoyu-thingy.
This chicken oil's gonna be different from many of the chicken rice you ate.. It's got a nice mix of sweetness and saltiness which goes really well with the cold steamed chicken.
To me, it's taste (the oil) reminded me of the sushi soy sauce, which was pretty interesting.

Ok, that's A LOT of meat for ~$30..

Next important thing to mention, is the consistency of the meat cooking.
Many times, you get parts of the chicken that tastes hard and overcooked or soft and bloody (which is really a fucking turn-off). But you have to praise the effort they take into cooking their chicken. The meat isn't too hard nor soft, it's just the right chewy texture that is consistent throughout the whole chicken.
Pretty sure y'all can already taste the pictures below w3w

Well-cooked that leaves an amazing taste and feeling.

Treasures beneath: chicken breast never looked so good

Plus plus point, they are pretty generous with their chicken oil too.

LOOK AT THEM FATS

Perhaps the only downside about this store is the soup that came with the chicken rice... It was pretty bland and just tasted... like normal soup. But heck, you're not here to fucking drink nonsense, you're here to eat the ultimate form of steamed chicken.
Whether you're a chicken rice connoisseur, or just a peasant passing by Bishan, you should definitely give this one a try. You'll be in for a fucking good treat at a reasonable price. This store is RECOMMENDED by thehungrywolves.

Hungry Wolf Rating: 8.5/10
